Sunday, October 13th, 2002, 1500 NZT

Star center Ian Bell has been given a fifteen day suspension for his actions in the last seconds of the semifinal game against the Cougars on September 12th, one of five suspensions handed out after action continued after the completion of the game.

Veteran forward John Williamson came off the bench to defend his team mates from two Couga(e)r players, and as such received a stiffer suspension of thirty days.

Fellow forward Stan Greene was also sited by game refereee Jerome Raateland, but did not receive any further attention from the committee. Viewing the written submissions, Greene was quoted as saying "Hey, all I did was fall on the guy and said I thought there was a lot of love in the room".

Greene received a 90-day suspension in 1992 for elbowing, and leads the Rodents with 362 all-time minutes in penalties. Jim Carr also received a 90-day suspension for use of the stick in the 2000
season.
